Description
Rhododendron ‘Odee Wright’ is a charming evergreen rhododendron noted for its attractive clusters of pale yellow blooms, which open from peach coloured buds to reveal flowers tinted with soft pink, setting a gentle and appealing spring display. The flowers have broadly funnel shaped blooms with wavy edges, giving them a classic rhododendron form, and appear during mid spring (October) in suitable climates.
This cultivar is naturally compact, typically forming a neat shrub about 0.8–1 metre high and wide, with glossy dark green leaves providing attractive evergreen structure throughout the year. Its size and tidy habit make it well suited to mixed borders, small garden spaces, patios, or container plantings where classic spring flower colour is desired.
Rhododendron ‘Odee Wright’ prefers acidic, well drained soil and partial shade to dappled sun, and performs well in sheltered garden positions where its delicate flower colours can be appreciated without harsh exposure.

How to plant
All our rhododendrons are grown in pots, so you can plant them anytime, though autumn is ideal for encouraging strong root growth. Find the right spot based on your chosen rhodo, improve the soil generously with organic matter, gently tease out the roots, and plant shallow at or just below the original soil level. Finally, mulch well and water thoroughly to help your plant establish.

Care information
Rhododendrons are rewarding and easy to grow once their basics are right — most issues come down to watering, drainage, or planting depth. We recommend keeping roots cool and moist (but not waterlogged), planting shallow in well-drained acidic soil, mulching annually, feeding lightly in spring, and providing morning sun or dappled shade with shelter from harsh afternoon sun and wind.
