Description
Rhododendron ‘Oklahoma’ is a striking and vigorous evergreen rhododendron known for its showy clusters of large, deep red flowers with light darker red spotting, borne in open, funnel shaped blooms in late spring (October–November). The rich red tone and classic truss form make it a standout in garden beds and formal borders.
This cultivar forms a medium sized shrub, reaching approximately 2 metres in height, with medium green leaves that provide year round structure and contrast to the deep red blooms. Its robust growth habit and bold colour make it particularly suited to mixed borders, standout features, or woodland planting schemes where autumn to spring interest is desired.
Rhododendron ‘Oklahoma’ is best grown in acidic, well drained soil with partial shade to filtered light for optimal flowering performance, and is valued for both its vibrant late season flowers and its evergreen garden presence.
Order Rhododendron ‘Oklahoma’ online today, or visit the RhodoDirect nursery to view the rich red late spring blooms of this classic rhododendron in person.

How to plant
All our rhododendrons are grown in pots, so you can plant them anytime, though autumn is ideal for encouraging strong root growth. Find the right spot based on your chosen rhodo, improve the soil generously with organic matter, gently tease out the roots, and plant shallow at or just below the original soil level. Finally, mulch well and water thoroughly to help your plant establish.
