Specifications
Description
Rhododendron ‘Margaret Dunn’ is a refined evergreen rhododendron valued for its open, funnel-shaped blooms, which display a gentle blend of apricot and pink tones. Flowering in mid-spring, the soft colouring brings warmth and subtle elegance to the garden, pairing beautifully with both pastel and stronger spring-flowering companions.
The plant forms a well-balanced shrub with attractive evergreen foliage, providing year-round structure and interest beyond the flowering season. Its open flower form gives the trusses a lighter, more relaxed appearance, making it a good choice for mixed borders, woodland-style plantings, or feature positions where natural charm is preferred over heavy truss types.
Best grown in acid, free-draining soil with protection from harsh sun and wind, Rhododendron ‘Margaret Dunn’ is well suited to sheltered garden settings. A tasteful variety for gardeners seeking soft colour transitions and classic rhododendron form, it offers dependable performance with understated beauty.

How to plant
All our rhododendrons are grown in pots, so you can plant them anytime, though autumn is ideal for encouraging strong root growth. Find the right spot based on your chosen rhodo, improve the soil generously with organic matter, gently tease out the roots, and plant shallow at or just below the original soil level. Finally, mulch well and water thoroughly to help your plant establish.
