Specifications
Description
Rhododendron Double Date is a striking evergreen shrub, renowned for its unusual double deep rose‑pink flowers that open in late November. Each flower measures about 6 cm across and is held in conical trusses of around 10 blooms, creating a vibrant floral display that enhances garden borders or specimen plantings.
This compact rhododendron has dark green, oblanceolate leaves with a rounded base and acute tip, which are retained for up to three years. The well‑branched, upright habit reaches approximately 1.5 m in height over ten years, making it ideal for smaller gardens, mixed borders or container plantings.
Like most rhododendrons, Double Date favours moist, acid soil (pH around 4.5‑6.0) and benefits from regular morning watering during establishment, mulch to retain moisture, and placement in a position protected from harsh afternoon sun.
This hardy rhododendron is perfect for gardeners looking to add reliable colour and structure to their outdoor spaces. Buy Rhododendron Double Date online today and enjoy expert planting and care advice to help it flourish in your garden

How to plant
All our rhododendrons are grown in pots, so you can plant them anytime, though autumn is ideal for encouraging strong root growth. Find the right spot based on your chosen rhodo, improve the soil generously with organic matter, gently tease out the roots, and plant shallow at or just below the original soil level. Finally, mulch well and water thoroughly to help your plant establish.
